My first novel, Sins of Omission, has just been publishe. It’s a story based on my own experience as a young reporter in 1960s North Florida.
You can download and read the brief prologue that sets the story in motion here. It’s a novel of betrayal and atonement, racism and justice. It spans six decades and, though it is set in the present day, is framed by actual events in northeast Florida in the late 50s and early 60s. It’s been a pleasure to write.
In brief … when journalist Alan Rudberg travels to Florida to bury his father, he learns that the man’s death was no accident as local law enforcement officers maintain. His father was investigating a decades-old civil rights slaying and, convinced that these deaths are connected, Rudberg dedicates himself to solving both cases. When his probe begins to center on a political figure, it alters Rudberg’s professional and personal life and reveals a long-hidden family secret.
Get your free copy of the prologue by joining my mailing list. I’ll be sending out several updates–no more than once a week and usually fewer–and will offer a full chapter when my editor has finished with it.
I hope you enjoy it, and I welcome your comments.
